The 5-step morning routine
Stop waking up
into chaos.
A messy morning usually starts the same way.
You wake up, check your phone, answer one message, and lose the first clean hour of the day.
This 5-step routine helps you start work with a clearer head, less urge to scroll, and one task chosen before messages pull you around.
Set it up once tonight. Follow it tomorrow. Repeat it for 7 mornings.
Your 5 morning steps
📵
Step 1
Keep your phone away for 30 minutes
Charge your phone across the room before sleep.
When you wake up, don’t open Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, email, messages, or news for 30 minutes.
Make work the first hard thing your brain touches.
Why: quick apps train your attention to jump before the day even starts.
💧
Step 2
Drink 500ml of water before caffeine
Keep a 500ml bottle beside your bed.
Drink it before coffee, tea, or an energy drink.
Fix dry-mouth grogginess before you reach for caffeine.
Why: water is the easiest first win when you wake up slow.
☀️
Step 3
Get real light before screen light
Open the curtains within 30 minutes of waking.
Better: stand outside for 2 to 5 minutes.
Don’t stare at the sun.
Tell your body it’s daytime before your laptop does.
Why: bright morning light helps your body wake up and makes sleep easier later.
🚶
Step 4
Move for 2 minutes
Walk around your room, stretch, do 10 squats, or take one short lap outside.
Don’t turn it into a full workout.
Get blood moving before you sit down and demand focus.
Why: movement helps shake off the half-asleep feeling faster.
✏️
Step 5
Pick one task and put the routine somewhere visible
Write one sentence:
Today I need to finish ___.
Then add these 5 steps to a
routine tracker so the routine is ready tomorrow.
One clear target beats a messy list you keep avoiding.
Why: visible steps beat trying to remember everything while half-awake.
The routine only works if you repeat it
Reading this once won’t change your mornings.
You need the steps waiting for you when you wake up.
That’s the whole point of using a tracker.
Less thinking. More doing.
